12.1.18 - Wasing Park, Berkshire

Updated: Jan 2, 2019

Venue - It was love at first sight when we first visited our venue Wasing Park, topped off by the magical St Nicholas Church which is right on the estate.

The team at Wasing Park are so incredibly accommodating and all areas of the venue, church and onsite accommodation are so tied up it is a breeze coordinating with everyone. No matter how many questions I had someone was there every step of the way to answer them as quickly as possible and they made every effort to ensure all our requests were met. Our Minister and the Parishioners of St Nicholas welcomed us with open arms and it was such a lovely experience being able to make this connection and become a part of the parish community in the lead up to our wedding.

Flowers - We used Cherubs Floral design to help us achieve our goal of bringing the outdoors indoors and as the recommended florist by our venue they did a wonderful job draping the beams of the Castle Barn in foliage to give a truly woodland effect indoors. We then used Seventh Heaven for the centrepieces and bridal flowers as I felt so comfortable with the way they interpreted my ideas and pulled together a ‘shopping list’ style of ideas which they let me edit right up until a week before the wedding! They are so flexible and accommodating and their knowledge of advising what type of flowers are in season so more budget friendly without compromising the overall look really puts you at ease that you are in capable hands.

Décor - With such a vast venue I was really nervous about how we would get everything covered within our budget. I wanted guests to feel a personal touch from the second they entered the venue. We positioned picket signs on the drive up to the car park and placed hangover kits in everyone’s room in anticipation for the morning after. In the church we had the entrance decorated with Foliage and placed wicker baskets with the orders of service and confetti inside. Our drinks reception was held in the garden room where we had a statement flower wall (thanks to Heather and a Rose) as a central point for guests to take quick snaps in front of. In the Castle barn we opted for a mixture of centrepieces (candelabra and low level cake stands) as well as some LED Love letters to add a bit of extra sparkle!

Photography - Our day was captured by the incredible Jasmine Andrews. Her style is so relaxed and she is so professional and accommodating on the day that we hardly noticed she was there! She truly is gem and we have been inundated with requests to share her details by other future brides!

Videography - After trawling through Instagram I found our Videographer Jake Burgess and we could not have been more thrilled to work with him. He is so professional and unobtrusive on the day that his style of ‘working in the background’ meant our video was so natural - we couldn’t have asked for more! He was also more than happy to adapt the style of video to capture all the elements I had requested adding a unique touch.

The Dress - I was lucky enough to find my dream dress on my 25th Birthday with all my Bridesmaids and Mum in tow. After heading to Confetti and Lace bridal to try on a specific dress designed by Dando London, I decided that I wanted something with a bit more of a whimsical feel. My dress was designed and made but never added to Dando’s most recent collection and so I was lucky enough to walk away with a one of a kind dress that made me feel like a princess all day!
