You have secured your venue and you now get to start the processes of selecting a photographer, a florist, a caterer, a band! Generally your venue has probably already supplied you with a ‘recommended suppliers’ list.
These are suppliers who have worked at numerous weddings that have taken place at your venue and are experienced with the lay of the land.
Pros
* They are veterans of your venue
* They know the lay of the land
* They are experienced with the special features of your venue and will know how to highlight these
* No matter what their area of expertise they probably all know each other making for a smooth set up
* They would have seen it all and can offer advice right up until the final moments
Cons
* These suppliers can come at a premium
* They get booked up incredibly quickly
* They are very busy and may not be able to give you one on one attention until a couple months before your big day
* You could be missing out on another great supplier who shares your exact vision!
Other Suppliers
It is so important to choose suppliers who can share your vision for your day! Are you a relaxed bride with a woodland theme but the recommended florist only produce perfect looking arrangements – then why use them!
If you fall in love with a supplier who has never worked at your venue before they will generally go scout it out before meeting with you in person so that they have a clear idea of the type of venue and space they will be working with!
For budget friendly brides using hidden gem suppliers is usually a great way to secure some great deals (especially if they want exposure at your chosen venue).
Just because a specific supplier isn’t recommended by your venue…chances are they are recommended by another great venue and will do just as fabulous a job as any recommended supplier!
